lately, we've been in touch with so many awesome local wedding vendors this year! it's a real blessing to be surrounded by such great people in the industry who have a passion for all things wedding. it started off with the "lovely details showcase," organized by lisa of bellissima vita and karen of huckleberry karen designs, where we got to meet many fabulous up-and-coming wedding vendors on superbowl sunday.

since eddie's usually the one behind the camera, it's rare that he has his own images. here's a couple photos taken by james of the fanastic duo, photography by lisa + james.

it was at the showcase that we had the pleasure of meeting wedding/event coordinator extraordinaire michelle barrionuevo-mazzini of mb wedding design and events who invited us to a launch party for andrew hsu of studio msv later on that week at dekker studio in sf. not knowing what to expect, we had the opportunity to mingle with the best of the bay's wedding industry at a very shhhhwanky event. sheesh, we were definitely star struck a few times but did our best not to giggle like little school girls and ask for their autographs. seriously.

here's a few photos taken by the very talented, augie chang:

us and the lovely, jennifer skog "as in vogue!"

as we were asked to direct our attention to the projection screen, we couldn't help but pose for the camera. =) we're not the only misfits not paying attention, augie!

for your ladies and gents who are currently planning your wedding, check out the "promises & pearls bridal soiree" by clicking on the banner below:

eddie will be in hawaii but i'll hopefully be attending the show! hope to see you there!!!

connie and berto's engagement session

commentator: monica

this weekend's storm is supposed to be a doozie! we're so glad we went up to south lake tahoe last weekend, when the weather was as clear as the lake was described by dear old mark twain, who once said a "dinner plate" could be viewed easily up to 75 feet deep in the midst of the lake. ("keep tahoe blue," people!)

when snowboarding enthusiasts connie & berto asked us about doing a "snow engagement session," we immediately thought of the gorgeous view we had seen last year during our cabin trip with friends. what better view of the lake than from the emerald bay overlook! touted as one of the most gorgeous views in the world and one of the most photographed, you can see the lake's sole isle, "fannette island," beautiful glacier-carved granite, and the mountains, trees, and water that tahoe is known for.

this lovely couple was pretty much down to do whatever we asked of them, which we loooooove. not only did they brave death-defying heights and the risk of hypothermia but connie do so all in heels! lots of giggles, silliness, & one potentially bad spill avoided, we had a blast during this e-session.

congrats to you both, connie & berto! can't wait 'til you seal the deal in june!!!

open source photo is an online photography community we belong to. it's been a wealth of information and we've learned a lot from our fellow forum members. when we heard about the 2nd annual osp west "networking weekend," we jumped at the chance to finally meet up with our online colleagues in person. plus, who could pass up spending a weekend in napa, photographing at some gorgeous locations?

after meeting up at embassy suites, saturday morning was spent at trefethan winery, where we were assigned for a "fashion shoot" with several models. we worked with daniel and jennifer, who were awesome! meanwhile, lisa & paul, one of our wedding couples from last september who were kind enough to volunteer at another shoot going on with the "wedding shoot" group. we were able to catch up with them later that evening for a night shoot in downtown napa. there, we also got a chance to shoot pre-engagement photos for a couple that really isn't... or are they...? =)
thanks, conrad & iza!

laundry, ruined places and rockband tea party as a baby shower

commentator: ed

so monica and i were doing laundry the other night and out of no where, lola (our little wiener dog) jumps on the warm pile of clothes and started to dig herself under it. monica mimicked and the next thing that you know, we had a mini photo shoot. =) awesomeness!!

earlier that day, i was driving through mare island and stopped over this ruined building
that was just asking to be photographed. so i did.

on another note... (wow, i'm jumping all over the place here) monica had this tea/rockband
baby shower party for our good friend roxanne who is on her second baby. there were a
ton of kids everywhere and snapped this cutie below.

get mortified, sf - doomed valentine's day show

commentator: ed

aaaah, i can't believe it. i'm actually at a stage of my life where i can honestly say that "i love mondays". wow!!! why you ask? well, other than just sitting back, relaxing in front of a computer working on some photography projects and listening to pandora (which by the way EVERYONE should experience), monica and i headed over to the makeout room in san francisco to watch/shoot one of the funniest shows i've ever seen: "mortified live".

what is it???

"Hailed a "cultural phenomenon" by Newsweek and celebrated for years by the likes of This American Life, The Today Show, Esquire, The Onion AV Club, Daily Candy, Entertainment Weekly, and E!, Mortified is a comic excavation of the strange and extraordinary things we created as kids. Witness adults sharing their own adolescent journals, letters, poems, lyrics, home movies, stories and more.

After all, where else can you hear grown men and women confront their past with firsthand tales of their... first kiss, first puff, worst prom, fights with mom, life at bible camp, worst hand job, best mall job, and reasons they deserved to marry Jon Bon Jovi.

The largest and longest-running project of its kind, Mortified produces comedic content for the stage, the page, and the web. Its latest book, Mortified: Love Is a Battlefield, is in stores everywhere.

The project began in the late 1990s when founder Dave Nadelberg unearthed a notably awkward love letter and began sharing with friends. Formalizing as Mortified in 2002 with co-producer Neil Katcher, the project has since sifted through thousands of volumes of otherwise forgotten notebooks, photos, and envelopes in an effort crack the lid off our cultural shoebox and expose our inner geek. Participants include a wide range of people, from professional performers (comics, celebrities, singers) to total amateurs (architects, ad execs, salesmen) all in the noble pursuit of self-degradation. Personal redemption through public humiliation. There are a million stories buried in the pages of people's lives. Mortified's mission is to simply help people find them."
